Inizieranno in Michigan il prossimo 9 novembre le riprese di Trust, cupo dramma basato sugli effetti traumatici e dannosi causati da un maniaco sessuale in cerca di facili prede in internet. Il soggetto originale (poi sceneggiato da Andy Bellin) è stato scritto e verrà diretto da David Schwimmer, con Clive Owen e Catherine Keener protagonisti nei panni di una coppia di genitori devastata dalla scoperta che la loro figlia 14enne è stata molestata da un adulto, riuscito a conquistare la fiducia della ragazza attraverso una chat room frequentata da adolescenti. Liana Liberato avrà il ruolo della figlia.

Clive Owen has revealed that his upcoming drama Trust will be an "uncompromising" look at internet grooming. The actor, whose latest film The Boys Are Back opens in UK cinemas on January 22, admitted that he was attracted to the David Schwimmer-directed project after reading Andy Bellin's screenplay.

"It's a deeply upsetting and very well written script about a family ripped apart when their 14-year-old daughter is groomed on the internet," said Owen, who will play the father in the film.

"It's a very brilliant script, really uncompromising," he told DS. "Maybe it's because my girls are the age they are, but I think it's something that really needs to be addressed. Grooming is a huge problem that needs to be dealt with and talked about.

"It was inspired by the charity that Schwimmer works for. The script has been rigorously looked at by people who are experienced in this world. I've met with the head of a rape centre and a guy from the FBI. It feels very authentic and I think it's a good thing to do."

Owen also revealed that Oscar nominee Viola Davis and his Duplicity co-star Thomas McCarthy have boarded the cast.
